The Association of Women in the Mining Sector (WIMA) was established on March 8, 2021 upon the submission of the founding documents (By-law, Founding Declaration and Letter of Address Proof) to the Provincial Directorate of Civil Society Relations of Ankara Governorship. The association was established to bring together all workers, both men and women, who have gained or are seeking competences in their fields of expertise in the mining sector in Turkey; to ensure solidarity among its members in technical and social matters; to contribute to the development of mining in the country and the related legislative arrangements; and to strive for the improvement of the rights of personnel in the mining sector..
